
Meg Cass (they/them) is a queer, trans fiction writer, teacher, and crafter who lives in St. Louis, MO. Their first book, ActivAmerica, was selected by Claire Vaye Watkins for the Katherine Anne Porter Prize and was published in 2017. Recent stories have appeared in ANMLY, Foglifter, Ecotone, manywor(l)ds, Mississippi Review, and Passages North. Their flash fiction has appeared in the Wigleaf Top 50 (2012, 2024), Best Small Fictions (2024), and the SmokeLong Quarterly Best of the First 10 Years Anthology. They are a coordinator for Changeling, a queer reading series, and co-founded and co-edit the Craft Chaps series with Amy Sayre Baptista and Xochitl-Julisa Bermejo. Meg teaches in the English Department at the University of Illinois Springfield.
